Every think piece about restructuring design teams for AI starts with a false premise: that design as we practiced it was worth preserving. It wasn't. The discipline didn't deliver the human-centered outcomes it promised, and AI is just accelerating the same broken process. New nature metaphors won't save a practice that was already producing crap.
